Statistical Summary: Proprietary Sector of Missouri Postsecondary Education
2006-2007 Edition
Extensive institutional and student data are collected from schools certified to operate under the provisions of the proprietary school certification statute. These data are processed and maintained as a planning and decision-making resource for the schools submitting the data, for the Department of Higher Education, and for the citizens of the state. They permit observation of the characteristics, scope and economic impact of this educational sector.
The first statistical summary of this educational sector was published by the department in 1988. The 2007 edition contains numerous tables with aggregated data for each institution certified to operate by the MDHE for purposes of instructional delivery in the state. The tables are provided in multiple formats; Microsoft Word (doc), Microsoft Excel (xls), or Adobe Acrobat (pdf). If you want to print tables, we recommend using the PDF version as that will ensure proper page and document formatting. The graphic summary and tables that follow contain primarily self reported information from the individual institutions. The precision of the tables is affected by the accuracy of the data reported by the schools and by the department's processes for recording and displaying those data. Additionally, the department has not independently verified the accuracy or completeness of the data submitted by individual schools. Consequently, readers should use caution in drawing conclusions about individual schools or this sector of education based solely on these data reports.
